Measuring the Cost:

Exploring the impacts of water pollution

Starting your own business and picking the right niche in no time

Clean water is essential for human health and well-being. Water pollution has clear costs to society through the spread of diseases, the burden of water treatment, and the impacts on fisheries, ecosystems, and recreation opportunities. But how can society account for the true social cost of water pollution?

Join Resources for the Future and the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future of Cornell University for Measuring the Cost: Exploring the Impacts of Water Pollution. Catherine Kling, Cornell University professor, Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future Faculty Director, and RFF University Fellow, will share her proposal for an Integrated Assessment Model (IAM) modeling the true cost of water pollution by linking the sources of water pollution to their impacts on ecosystem services and economic values.

When: Tuesday, December 4, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Doors open at 3:00 p.m.
Where: Dentons; 1900 K Street NW, Founders Room, 2nd Floor, Washington, DC

The event will be live streamed on the RFF website.
